coffee can be beneficial no doubt but Important to point out in excess coffee makes you loose calcium from your bones, creates stress on your adrenal glands and causes spikes and dips in sugar and energy levels. carob and cacao nibs are a much better option! maybe even just some straight expresso!

Great episode! At the end, Dr. Chopra mentions one of his favorite books, but I couldn’t quite make outhe what he says. What’s the title and author of the book? Thank you!

guys, I have been listening to your podacst for quite a while now. And lately you interview so many people abou the Ketogenic diet, coffee and mct oils. And I am also into that lately and exploring a few things.
BUT, I would like to ask what are your thoughts on the alkaline and acidic side of the things, and if you can interview a specialist about it. I mean sure, there are benefits in coffee and Ketogenic diet, but aren’t they quite acidic?
Additionally, I also wanted to mention that i bought recently a Keto test, and I notice that the morning I wake up I have zero Ketons. Then I drink a bulletproof mactha and I have traces, but they actually disappear after a couple of hours. So I am not sure if the mct oil helps raise my Ketons or I just get a few of them and then they go away.

Hi Eleni,
You bring up a good point. But the important thing to note is that everybody is different. However the common thread with both of these suggestions always comes with eating more vegetables, mainly greens which are extremely alkaline forming. So in essence there needs to be a balance and not an extreme. For every cup of coffee, one should consider some lemon water or water infused with greens. On a keto diet, more than 50% of your plate should have organic greens and veggies on it. That is my personal recommendation 🙂 As far as ketones, I am not an expert in that and how to keep your count high. I would recommend looking into some of our experts that talk about this, they have books blogs and other resources that I am sure can help you! Best of luck on your health journey – Marni
